CKD Education for Patients
You CAN live a happy, healthy life with Chronic Kidney Disease or CKD
CKD Patient education materials available for all stages
Chronic kidney disease doesn’t need to define you. CKD patients who seek education about their disease are more likely to get healthier and gain a better quality of life. Raenali Publications® patient education offers practical steps to slow the advance of CKD. It also explains dialysis and transplant options, and more.
BENEFITS OF CKD EDUCATION
Patients with chronic kidney disease who learn more about their disease often see both physical and mental health benefits. This is especially true of our one on one, physician-patient CKD stage 4 workshop series, “My Kidneys. My Options. My Life.TM”

UNDERSTANDING MY DISEASE
About 15% of people in the U.S.—over 35 million—have chronic kidney disease (CKD).1 Many people do not know it! The only way to know for sure is to be tested.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT CKD
Most people have two kidneys located in the back right below the rib cage. The kidneys are each the size of a fist. Their main purpose is to filter and clean the blood of waste products and extra water. The extra water and wastes are then collected in the bladder and discarded as urine.
The kidneys also help maintain the proper balance of chemicals in the blood, such as potassium and phosphorous. The kidneys make vitamins for strong bones and produce hormones that regulate your blood pressure. They also make a hormone that helps sustain your red blood cells. With all this, it makes sense that having good kidney function is important to good health.
