The CKD education program has been a great benefit for our patients. I've sent many more patients to home therapy, and patients overall have become more interested and compliant with their medical care.

G. Walker, MD FRCP, FACP, FASN

President, North Texas Renal Management

I have found that the patients that have attended the CKD 4 Workshops have felt more in control with decisions that need to be made as they approach end-stage renal disease.

Teresa McLemore PA-C, FNKF

American Kidney Foundation Certified Kidney Health Coach

Many of my patients have attended the CKD education and they all praise the classes for different reasons. Some of them are: I know what to eat better, I know to live with my kidney problem better now than ever before, I am less scared of dialysis or transplantation now, I know my options better now even if my kidneys fail and many others. CKD education empowers the patients better to face their problems and helps them make better, educated decisions. This has been a great addition to the services we offer in DNA, more about wellness in the face of kidney disease, less about illness.

Anupkumar Shetty MD FASN

Associate Program Director Methodist Nephrology Fellowship Program

Medical Director, FMC South Dallas County Dialysis Center, Dallas, TX

Without exception, all my patients and the families have found these workshops extremely helpful. More of my patients are choosing home-based Dialysis therapies.

The DNA CKD workshops are a very important part of essential education for our patients.

At times my colleagues say a patient is in denial. After the six sessions usually the patient confides and discusses personal info that explains their attitude. It allows me as a physician to delve deeper and make a meaningful encounter.

The prospect of needing renal replacement in the future is often times a terrifying experience for patients.  However, providing CKD education removes the anxiety and makes the transition to dialysis easier for the patient.

The workshops has been a way to explain different situations in an easier way for patients will understand.  An experience that patients and their family both can understand.   Makes patients not feel isolated and able to relate to others. Very Beneficial.
